When the clock strikes midnight, madness will ensue. The anticipation for Lil Wayne's Tha Carter V is so high that Apple Music and Spotify have a real possibility of shutting down. Couple that with a few others high-profile drops from Logic and Kevin Gates, with Kanye West arriving this Saturday... we're feeling pretty lucky right about now. Alright, maybe I'm being a little dramatic about streaming services shutting down but you get the point. The possibilities are endless for C5 since the artist himself still hasn't released the official tracklist. His daughter, Reginae Carter, confirmed that she'll be featured but other names that have been thrown around, like Nivea, Drake, and XXXTentacion, are still to be determined. One man that's happy to sit back and enjoy the ride is Meek Mill, who posted about how hyped he is for tonight.
There's a slight chance that Meek, himself, could be dropping tonight since he announced his upcoming work would be a surprise release. However, we doubt he would willingly choose to compete with Lil Wayne, Kanye West and Logic's drops. He will likely just chill tonight, waiting for midnight to come along like the rest of us. The Philadelphia rapper wrote on his Instagram that he includes Weezy in his top 3 rappers of all time list and considering how many people view him as one of the greatest, Meek isn't alone. He reposted the Carter V album cover, expressing his hope for Wayne to "go ham tonight for the culture."
With all the anticipation and excitement surrounding this album, it could very well compete with some of the top projects we've gotten for Album of the Year conversations. We'll wait until we actually hear it first to reach that far though.
