Twitter helps reunites childhood friends.

This week, a young woman from Mississippi decided to use the far-reaching capacities of Twitter to its fullest and issued out a PSA to help her find her long-lost best friend.

It was Brianna Cry, a 19-year old from Mississippi who uploaded a photo of her as a child alongside another young girl that she med on a dinner cruise while vacationing in Hawaii in 2006.

“Hey twitter, I met this girl on a dinner cruise in Hawaii in 2006,” Cry penned. “We were basically best friends for that night so I need y’all to help me find my best friend cause I miss her and I need to see how she’s doing now. Please retweet this so we can be reunited.”

Overnight, the tweet had amassed hundreds of thousands of retweets and in just 12 hours, Cry and her friend Heii were reunited.

“Heard you were looking for me,” Heii captioned with a photo of herself holding up a family portrait taken on the same cruise.

“I was so shocked! I was in the car scrolling through twitter and I saw her response with her family photos from the Hawaii dinner cruise,” Cry tells the Evening Standard. “I had no idea my tweet would’ve reached her that fast […] we’ve been talking about college and life. We’re still catching up.”
