Jay Z and Barneys high-end collaboration was off to a rocky start, but in the end none of that seems to have effected the sales of their partnership.
Following the announcement that Jay would be releasing a Christmas collection Barneys was called out for racial profiling. Nonetheless the collection brought in $1 million in sales, and that was just over a two-month period. If you'll recall, some of the more expensive clothing items included a Rick Owens crocodile jacket for $58,000 and a gold Hublot watch for $33,900.
However all that money is going towards a good cause-- because of the controversy it was determined that 100% of the profits would go to the Shawn Carter Foundation, previously it was set at 25%.
