The head coach didn't feel like it was a team move.

After Cody Parkey missed a potential game-winning field goal in the Chicago Bears Wild-Card game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the kicker was the subject of plenty of ridicule. The internet was ruthless when it came to Parkey's misfortune and in an appearance on the Today Show, the kicker explained how he has completely steered clear of social media.

During the Chicago Bears exit press conference on Monday, head coach Matt Nagy spoke about Parkey's TV appearance and how he wasn't exactly happy about it.

"For me, you understand that we always talk about a 'we' and not a 'me' thing," Nagy explained according to ESPN. "We always talk as a team, we win as a team, we lose as a team. You know, I just, I didn't necessarily think that that was too much of a 'we' thing."

At the end of the season, the Bears coach conducts exit interviews with each player. Nagy said his interview with Parkey went well and was never made aware that he'd end up going on National TV.

ESPN also reported that Bears General Manager Ryan Pace said "I know Cody wishes he had a better season. We wish he had a better season, too. We've just got to evaluate that now. You've got to be honest with yourselves in these. I think as we go forward, that's when we've got to be real and say, hey, that's an important position for us. It's a position of emphasis."

Pace's comments allude to the fact that they will be looking for some other options at the kicker position to offer competition to Parkey.
