Washington is still the man.

If you woke up this morning and saw Denzel Washington's name trending and had a panic attack, you wouldn't be the only one. Washington's name began trending on Twitter this morning, and fans of the veteran actor immediately assumed the worst. After allowing the panic to subside, fans realized that Washington was making headlines for a fairly simple reason. He visited Capitol Hill and politicians who are used to sitting in rooms with the most powerful men on the planet turned to mush in his presence.

Pictures of Washington posing with excited workers at the Russell and Dirksen office buildings began flooding the internet. Dressed in a suit, but keeping it slightly casual with an open collar button and no tie, Washington met up with senators including Sen. John Neely Kennedy (R-La.) and Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) to talk about the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, for which he is a spokesperson. The reason for the meeting has yet to be revealed, but it's possible that Washington was just helping secure funding for new programs within the Boys & Girls Club of America. The two time Academy Award winner stopped to take pictures and greet those who approached him, opting to interact with his fans rather than hide behind security. My man.
