"The world has enough superheroes," is the catchphrase for the Venom film, and new footage from the movie makes that very clear. Unlike Captain America or Black Panther, Venom doesn't care about the fate of the world. He's more of a selfish character who enjoys eating humans and causing mayhem. The first footage (that isn't a trailer) from the film was released online yesterday (September 26), and fans will be excited to see that Hardy and director Ruben Fleischer aren't holding back.
In the new footage, Eddie Brock is surrounded by SWAT outside of an apartment complex. "You do not want to do this, trust me," says Brock. In response, the SWAT team leader yells "masks" and the crew of armed men put their equipment on. "Alright, have it your way, 'mask,'" says Brock cooly, imitating the SWAT leader. "Copy," says Venom as he takes control of Brock's body. The fearful SWAT members throw a smoke grenade at the massive alien, but he catches it before using his tendrils to disarm the men. As grenades start flying, Venom moves through the chaos to beat the team of armed men to a bloody pulp. Venom hits theaters on October 5.
