Joey Fatts is one of the most underrated California artists in the game right now. He doesn't seem to mind though, opting to prove the world wrong through pure musical ambition. Fatts has just dropped off his latest album, Chipper Jones Vol. 4, and his lyrical prowess is at peak form. The project features guest appearances from Dave East, Vince Staples, and JSMN. The short list of featured artists gives Fatts plenty of solo time on the 10 track tape to showcase his abilities.
Fatts' instrumental choices on Chipper Jones Vol. 4 range from trap to soulful. His range is impressive, but his scope seems somewhat limited. The project feels self-aware though, which means Fatts more than likely wanted to keep his scope and narrative linear in a sense to not make the project feel too boisterous.
