NBA will begin selling portions of games this season.

NBA fans, and gamblers, will now be allowed to purchase just a portion of a game on NBA League Pass for the first time ever, according to a report by ESPN's Darren Rovell

Initially, the NBA will charge $1.99 to watch the fourth quarter of any game on League Pass, whether you tune in at the start of the quarter or for the final possession. That said, Rovell notes that the league plans on giving viewers the option of buying portions of games at the start of each quarter by December.

"It's a big moment, but it's also a small first step," NBA commissioner Adam Silver told ESPN on Thursday. "There are limitations in the technology right now, but we're working as quickly as possible so that, at some point in the near future, fans can choose to buy any part of any game."

"We imagine a situation where a fan has dinner at 8 o'clock and only has 30 minutes and can choose to buy a half hour of a game," Silver said.

According to Rovell, Silver says the league hasn't ruled out "dynamically pricing games" based on how good the matchup is "just like our teams do with their tickets." The price to watch a full game, whether it's through Turner's B/R Live, NBA.com or on the NBA app, will still cost $6.99.
