It looks like we'll be hearing new music from Nas in the near future, thanks in part to a dance documentary the rapper will be executive producing. It was announced today that Nas will be taking part in producing the film "Shake the Dust," directed by Adam Sjoberg. The documentary will examine b-boys from third-world communities likes those in Colombia, Cambodia, Uganda and Yemen.
Nas is not only an executive producer for the documentary, but will also be providing new, original music for the movie's soundtrack. Nas released a statement on the film below, and you can also peep the documentary for "Shake the Dust."
"What these kids are doing around the world reminds me why I fell in love with hip-hop and how important it is as a creative and constructive outlet. After hearing Adam’s vision for this project and hearing the stories, I was incredibly excited to help bring the film to global audiences who need to hear this surprising message of empowerment."
