After blessing the world with the "Do U Wrong" video with Syd of The Internet, Leven Kali find himself on the opposite end of the spectrum on his new single "Mad At U." The song, which premiered on Billboard this afternoon, follows in the footsteps of other love-drunk songs that offer up a juxtaposition of hot/and cold. For every lyric that speaks of a romantic impasse, the song's reinforces his reconciliation efforts like clockwork. Leven Kali broke it all down for Billboard before pulling the aux cable once and for all.
"We give up on people so fast these days, and most of the time it's over some little stuff that isn't worth it," Kali told Billboard before the song went to press. "This song is about when you realize that the beef isn't worth going off in a new direction completely and finding someone new. Working it out just makes us stronger."
Kali Leven's upcoming Low Tide EP is set to drop on May 10, at which time the Holland-born singer (claiming Los Angeles) will look to capitalize on media attention with a slew of concert bookings. Peep "Mad At U" and hit us with your thoughts in the comment section below the write-up.
Quotable Lyrics:
301 Sony, all my drinks on ice
Always so funny how we think these fights
Gon' tear us down, apart we build it up again, now
Never break it down, only break you off, I wanna see you swim.
