Snitches have been around for centuries. According to street code, you must remain loyal to your squad forever. When YG debuted his new song at Coachella last weekend, he showed the crowd photos of Tekashi 6ix9ine while he rapped along to "Stop Snitchin." The official audio was released last night and today, the Compton artist comes through with the video.
Premiering today, YG's cinematic video for "Stop Snitchin" is probably not what you would have expected. In the past, we've seen the artist repping his gang alliances in his videos and with the song having such close ties to his feud against Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine, you would think that maybe YG would take the streets of New York or find another way to visually insult the rainbow-haired character. Instead, YG re-enacted a scene that includes him and his family coming up with a plan to escape slavery.
The rapper can be seen in the fields with a mob of dancing slaves behind him, tending to the gardens and helping out on the farm in a jovial manner. They know they're about to be free so they're all smiling. That's until somebody decided to snitch on him and his crew, leading to a final scene that shows YG hanging from a noose and another man tied up to a tree and getting whipped. What do you think of the new video?
