Disney's "The Lion King" Live-Action Remake Teaser Trailer Has Arrived

"The Lion King" remake is set to drop on July 19th, 2019.

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the first look at Disney's remake of The Lion King. Ever since it was first announced, fans were eager to see how the animated childhood classic would translate with CGI. Of course, the also A-list cast increased fans curiosity of what to expect. The film is set to drop next summer, but it looks like Disney is ready to kick off their campaign. Today, they shared the first glimpse of the film in the new teaser trailer.

Disney has shared the first look of The Lion King remake directed by The Jungle Book's Jon Favreau. Disney brought Pride Rock to life with CGI technology and recreated the iconic opening scene where Rafiki holds Simba up. James Earl Jones' returns for the remake to voice Mufasa. "Everything the light touches is our kingdom. But a king's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, this sun will set on my time here and will rise with you as the new king," Jones is heard saying as Mufasa at the beginning of the trailer.

The remake of the 1994 classic stars a slew of some of the most notable names in entertainment. Donald Glover takes on the role of Simba while Beyoncé voices Nala. Chiwetel Ejiofor serves as the voice of Scar.

The Lion King is set to be released on July 19th, 2019.
