The Toy Story franchise has earned a place alongside the cinematic canon's most acclaimed series. Children and adults alike can enjoy the antics of Woody and Buzz, who have retained relevance nearly twenty-five years after their inception. Though fans came to appreciate Toy Story 3 as the perfect sendoff, Pixar have decided to continue the saga, prompting cautious optimism from die-hard fans; after all, both 2 and 3 broke the "sequel curse," arguably surpassing the original, depending on who you ask. Now, with Toy Story 4 set to drop on June 20th, 2019, Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) hit up The Tonight Show to share some insight.
Promising an emotional punch akin to Gone With The Wind, Allen also takes a second to reveal some details on Keanu Reeves' role. “Keanu Reeves has got a great part,” Allen teased. “Actually, a little inside story, even [Reeves] said — gentle, wonderful guy that he is — ‘This sounds too much like Buzz Lightyear.’ And his character does have an edge." Buzz similarities aside, Allen also reveals that the toy Reeves portrays is about an inch tall, before taking a shot at Woody's lack of groin.
"You've seen it!" says Allen. "I didn't design it!"
