It only took a boatload of months to plan and execute but lo and behold: Big K.R.I.T. is ready to unveil his "Energy" music video, choosing to post it via a private channel in the early hours of the day. By the midday, the training wheels were completely removed to the benefit of a wider more generalized audience.
As always, Big K.R.I.T. keeps with the theme of atonement in more ways than one. At its inception, "Energy" was included in the Trifecta EP published last year, but could find its way on the TDT compilation project later in 2019, if everything goes according to plan.
"It’s important more than ever to show the positive energy of life," he expressed in a conversation with Complex ahead of the video's premiere. "The coming together of generations and the giving of knowledge. There’s so much power in community and fellowship."
See for yourself, K.R.I.T. does a great job of filling the video's runtime with a plethora of images that seamlessly communicate his message of communion. As always, he delivers the type of Southern rootsiness that often goes unreported by artists trying to reach a universal audience. Directed by Child, who led the charge on Kodie Shane's "Sing To Her" music video a few months back, "Energy" is the work of artists whose focus is as unyielding as it is exacting in quality (and detail).
