An OG to the game himself, Snoop has experienced his share of hardship. he already lost one friend and collaborator in 2Pac Shakur. Now, in the wake of Nipsey Hussle's tragic murder, Snoop took to Instagram to offer his prayers and condolences. "It's fucked up man," says Snoop, sounding notably weary. "I just want to send my prayers out to Nipsey Hussle, his family, to Lauren London and her family. This is fucked up man. This is fucked up. Prayers out to the whole family. This shit got to stop, man."

The pair previously collaborated on Snoop's Malice N Wonderland album, specifically the song "Upside Down." Though their musical partnerships were few and far between, Snoop clearly respected Nipsey as a man and an artist. Uncle Snoop even requested that Nipsey portray his likeness in the NWA Straight Outta Compton biopic, though Nipsey ultimately declined the offer.
No matter where you stand, Nipsey's death has been a difficult one to process. Gunned down for unknown reasons, Nipsey seemed on the verge of furthering his path to greatness, as both a role model, a musician, and a community leader. Snoop's troubled cadence speaks volumes; this one hurts. Rest in peace Nipsey Hussle, and keep your head up, Snoop.
