2 Chainz has done collaborations with just about everybody in the rap game. However, one rapper who hasn't come calling for a Tity Boi feature is Jay Z. 2 Chainz is promising something big and unique with his upcoming album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, recently revealing fans will get a cookbook with the deluxe edition. In a new interview with the rapper though it sounds like the time for a Hov feature has not arrived just yet.
While talking to DJ Whoo Kid for nearly twenty minutes, Tity 2 Necklace broached plenty of subjects. One in particular was the reason why he hasn't worked with Jay Z yet, and when that day will come.
"I see who Hov rocks with," 2 Chainz said. "Hov rocks with people who he respect and who has glimpses of trap on their resume. I'm a recovering d-boy. I'm a recovering d-boy and he is, too...I just told him, I don't know if he caught it or not, but basically I was saying, 'Damn. I like that you and Ross record.' That's what I was saying in my head. 'I like that Mike WiLL beat.' Some of them joints, I be thinkin' I could have killed them, 'cause I like his album."
Although Chainz didn't get a spot on Magna Carta Holy Grail, he was contemplating something to send Hov for B.O.A.T.S. II. However, it was Jay's Watch The Throne partner who told 2 Chainz to wait.
"I do have something I thought would be cool for this album, but I got to talkin' to 'Ye. I'm like, 'Ye, what you think about putting Hov on this one?'He was like, 'Me Time,' in all caps. He just told me just to go hard on niggas," the Atlanta native said on his advice from Kanye West.
2 Chainz went on to say that maybe we'll get that Hova x Tity Boi collabo on his third album. Nonetheless, the rapper revealed he still has about a dozen features out there that have yet to be released. He remained tight-lipped about features on B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, only saying that he wanted to avoid everything that was cliché, even when it comes to features.
