Paak is preparing to release his forthcoming album next week.

Romance isn't dead, and Anderson .Paak is proving that in his latest visual for his Smokey Robinson-assisted single, "Make It Better." The song and music video pair quite nicely, the R&B singer spins a tale of a relationship hitting bumps in the road, but instead of outright giving up and calling it quits, Paak wants to start fresh to make new, more pleasant, memories.

Not many young artists can boast that they've received a Smokey Robinson co-sign, let alone get the Motown icon on a track. The two singers blend voices effortlessly on this song where romance is welcomed and celebrated. Last November Paak released his effort Oxnard, with Dr. Dre acting as his main producer, and he's gearing up to drop Ventura next week.

NPR asked Paak if, with all of his new success, he thinks he's "made it. "I mean, dude, I could eat sushi every day if I wanted to," he said. "It's dope not having to worry about my phone bill and stuff. But it's always something next level. I'm always around people that are on that next level, and I want to aspire to do that. But this definitely feels like a welcome home — like, "Dang man, I'm proud of what we did." All these different people we met. I've gotten to see the world, I've gotten to share all these experiences with people in my hometown and introduce my hometown to the world. It just feels great. This is what we dreamed of."
