"Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" is the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game.

After just 11 days on the market, the latest game in Nintendo's popular fighting series, "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" has sold over three million copies, making it the fastest selling Nintendo Switch game to date. The game is also the fastest selling title in the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

In an announcement made on Tuesday, Nintendo also said the Switch is the fastest selling console of the current generation. The Japanese gaming company has sold 8.7 million units of the Switch in just 21 months in stores, despite the machine being very limited when it was first released. Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing said “We are thrilled to see such a strong reaction from consumers in the second holiday season for Nintendo Switch. We’re looking forward to delivering more excitement and smiles to our fans in the coming year and beyond.”

According to Bloomberg, Nintendo plans to sell 38 million Switch consoles by the end of the financial year, although it is predicted they will most likely only sell 35 million.

Regardless, it's clear that "Super Smash Bros. Ultimate" is a huge hit. With 74 characters to choose from, who are you maining?
