Heading into Week 12 of the NFL calendar, the playoff picture has become clearer to the naked eye, with teams either jostling for position in weaker divisions or pulling away altogether. Even the MVP race is comprehensively simple to ascertain, as two candidates stand much taller the rest: Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and the ageless Drew Brees.
Up until recently, the Vegas bookmakers at Bovada had Patrick Mahomes a slight favorite to win the race, but the recent listing states otherwise, with Drew Brees coming away with a narrow margin at -210 to Mahomes' +200 ratio. The MVP award is literally the only distinction missing from Bree's treasure chest. He's already won a Super Bowl with the Saints, and in the process won himself the MVP title for the championship game. He has also garnered a whopping 11 Pro Bowl selections and the undisputed respect of his peers along the way.
The other ageless wonder in the equation is reigning MVP winner Tom Brady sitting in 6th position. The Pats QB has plenty of ground to make up if he is to add a 4th trophy to his mantle. Never say never.
