Tiger Woods will not be competing at the upcoming Arnold Palmer Invitational, an event which he has played in 18 times and won a record eight times over the course of his career.
Woods took to social media today to reveal the reason why he unexpectedly pulled out of the Invitational, citing a next strain that has been nagging him for weeks.

Woods, who participated in the WGC-Mexico Championship two weeks ago, posted the following on twitter Monday afternoon:
"1) Unfortunately due to a neck strain that I’ve had for a few weeks, I'm forced to withdraw from the API. I’ve been receiving treatment, but it hasn't improved enough to play. My lower back is fine, and I have no long-term concerns, and I hope to be ready for The Players."
"2) I'd like to send my regrets to the Palmer family and the Orlando fans. Its connection to Arnold makes it one of my favorite tournaments and I'm disappointed to miss it."
Thus far in the 2019 season, the 43-year old has finished tied for 20th at the Farmers Insurance Open, T15 at the Genesis Open and T10 at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
