Earlier today, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo explained to ESPN that he did not intentionally spit on Chris Paul prior to the Lakers/Rockets brawl at Staples Center on Saturday night. Rondo, who is currently serving a three game suspension as a result of the on-court scuffle, also told ESPN that Chris Paul isn't the "good guy" that people think he is.
"Everyone wants to believe Chris Paul is a good guy. They don't know he's a horrible teammate. They don't know how he treats people. Look at what he did last year when he was in L.A.; trying to get to the Clippers' locker room. They don't want to believe he's capable of taunting and igniting an incident."
Glen "Big Baby" Davis, who was a teammate of both Rondo and Paul during his career, says that Rondo has a point. Commenting on Bleacher Report's instagram post of Rondo's quote, Davis chimed in, "I played with both of them. CP3 is a very bad teammate." Davis played alongside Rondo on the Boston Celtics from 2007-2011 and was a teammate of Paul's for a brief stint between 2013 and 2015.
Rondo served the first game of his three-game suspension last night as the Lakers lost to the Spurs in an overtime thriller, while his teammate Brandon Ingram was also sidelined as part of his four-game ban. Chris Paul was only suspended for two games and will return to the Rockets' lineup for Friday night's game against his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers.
