Comedian Adele Givens reveals how an excerpt from one of her past performances was recreated in West's and Lil Pump's popular song.

Kanye West and Lil Pump's hit song "I Love It," is arguably one of the most widely discussed tracks of this year. With 168,835,470 views on YouTube, its safe to say the quirky single has captured the public's attention. As in many Kanye tracks, the song features a comedic audio excerpt. The female voice that opens the song belongs to comedian Adele Givens who recently sat down to speak to Billboard about the collaboration.

Of how the collaboration occurred, Givens shared, "One of [Kanye's] producers called and asked if I’d like to be featured on a song he had, asking me if I’d want to recreate something I did on Def Comedy Jam. They sent the song and I couldn’t help but laugh. Kanye later called and told me the concept of the video and it was even more creative, so I said of course I’d love to and that’s how it happened."

Givens went on to comment on Kanye's affinity to the comedic, and the nature of the controversial song. "When he sent me the song I told him it was hilarious and I was saying to my husband that I hoped he didn’t get offended when I said that, but he wasn't," she shared. "Most people who take the song seriously are the ones who get offended. "
