Not that it's any of our business until becomes a human right's abuse, but Adrian Peterson is unabashed in the manner he disciplines his child - nothing has changed. In a player profile published on Bleacher Report, Adrian Peterson admitted that he still uses force when necessary, in dealing with his son's misbehavior.
Peterson said, "I had to discipline my son and spank him the other day with a belt." The Washington Redskins' running back also admitted that he often resorts to drill tactics like "wall squats" when at a loss for words. "There's different ways I discipline my kids. I didn't let that change me," Peterson told Bleacher Report.
Peterson came under fire in 2014 when he was charged with felony child abuse for using a switch to spank his then-4-year-old son. The punitive measures resulted in the child walking about with cuts and bruises all over his body, including his buttocks and scrotum. Although Peterson would eventually plead non-guilty and only face 80 cumulative hours of community service, the NFL took matters into their hands, suspending him for the entire 2014 campaign. Many felt his days as a professional athlete were all but over, as the NFL climate had grown intolerant to off-field issues. But alas, AP is back to plying his trade at the highest level, this time in a 'Skins uniform.
Peterson's agent maintains that his client "has been an outstanding teammate and leader both on and off the field" since joining the Washington organization.
