PUMA Palace Guard OG
Palace Guard OG & Uproar Palace Guard debut this Friday.

PUMA's re-entry into the basketball category will include a revamped version of the classic 1990s Palace Guard silhouette, as well as the Uproar Palace Guard.

The Palace Guard OG, named in honor of The Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit, comes in a white, red and blue colorway as a nod to Pistons' Hall of Fame point guard Isiah Thomas.

“PUMA is a global sports brand that has been around for more than 70 years, and it’s important for us to honor our history while bringing new ideas that will help to define our future – and the new Uproar Palace Guard does just that,” says Adam Petrick, PUMA Global Director of Brand and Marketing. “The original Palace Guard was worn by NBA legends in the late 80’s, and we look forward to having both the original and the new version being a part of basketball and streetwear culture in the coming years.”

According to PUMA, the Palace Guard OG is fitted with Trinomic technology on the heel and a padded collar for enhanced comfort, while the microperforated toe and quarter panel provide additional cushioning.

The Uproar Palace Guard, recently worn by Raptors shooting guard Danny Green, is fitted with custom-cushion technology for enhanced comfort and maximum grip, so today’s players can ball with the toughness that defined Detroit basketball during the Palace Guard OG era.

Both styles will be available this Friday, March 8. The OG is priced at $90, while the Uproar retails for $130.
