Last week, it was reported that Larry Baer, the CEO of the San Francisco Giants, got into a physical altercation with his wife while in a public space in San Francisco. The whole incident was recorded on camera and you can see Baer grabbing at his wife's phone as she falls to the ground. In the aftermath of it all, both parties explained how it was simply an argument about a family member and nothing more. Despite both parties insistence on moving on, Major League Baseball will be investigating the matter. According to TMZ, the Giants released a statement saying that Baer is taking a leave of absence and has apologized for his actions.

"Mr. Baer has acknowledged that his behavior was unacceptable, apologized to the organization and is committed to taking steps to make sure that this never happens again," the statement read. "He has also requested, and the board has accepted, his request to take personal time away from the Giants beginning today. The Board has asked the Giants executive team to manage the day to day operations of the Club during this period, reporting directly to the Board."

The statement also explained how the league is currently investigating the matter and how the team is cooperating, saying: "Major League Baseball is taking the lead in gathering all facts surrounding the situation. The organization is cooperating fully with the process."

Baer has been with the organization since 1996 when he originally took over as COO.
