Super Bowl LIII MVP Julian Edelman made an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week, where he discussed his role in the Patriots' sixth championship and was presented with the Pete Rozelle Trophy for his efforts in last Sunday's victory against the Los Angeles Rams.
Additionally, Edelman said goodbye to his playoff beard, as he allowed Ellen to shave it all off to raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Boston.
The show won't air until this afternoon, but you can check out the footage in the video embedded below.
Beard shaving kicks off at the 8-minute mark.
“Just winning the game is what you want,” Edelman said (H/T Boston.com).
“But getting the MVP is kind of a win for me and my other team, and that’s my family. Getting to experience this with them because they’ve been in my corner and they’ve made me who I am. My father was a tough, hard-nosed guy who, you know, didn’t have a father and pushed me to limits I never thought I’d get to. And my mother, being the loving little lady that she is, I was never late to a practice. She was always there.”
