The Game is pooling donations for the funeral of a murdered boy with help from local gang members.

7-year-old Talib Pecantte of Los Angeles was shot in the chest on Monday night while sitting in a parked vehicle with his mother and an unidentified man in the Mid-City area. Tragically, he succumbed to his wounds the following evening.

After learning of the incident, Compton native The Game, who's become known for his charity work as of late, has called on local members of the Bloods, Crips and Spanish gangs in L.A. to raise enough money to cover the cost of the boy's funeral.

"In 60 minutes, $7000, which is a generous contribution from people who don’t have to give anything," Game announced in a new interview with TMZ. "We grew up in this city, so at the end of the day we kind of feel obligated. So I'm gonna keep on raising money."

He also revealed that he's spearheaded a "Cease-Fire L.A." campaign with the various gangs for the holidays, to be reassessed in the new year.

There have been no arrests in connection with the murder as of yet, and the suspects have simply been described as "four black males in black hoodies, last seen in a white vehicle". Both Talib's mother and the unidentified man were hit as well, but are reportedly recovering without issue.
