City Girls talk that feature on Drake's "Scorpion."

While dissecting the various featured appearances on Drake’s Scorpion, some ears may have caught an appearance from Miami’s City Girls duo on Side B on the “In My Feelings” selection. The track, which experimented with New Orleans bounce elements, was an ode to some ladies in Drake’s life, notably his first girlfriend, singer and former 106 & Park host Keshia Chante as he sings, “Kiki, do you love me? Are you riding?”

In later verses, he’d rewrite the line using the names JT and ‘Resha, in reference to members JT and Yung Miami (real name Caresha) of City Girls and follow it up with a segue featuring vocals from the Quality Control signees.

“Growing up, I always been a Drake fan,” JT recently told Rap-Up about the moment they first got a follow from Drizzy himself on social media, with Miami adding, “How did Drake know us? We just some random hood City Girls. How he heard our music? For him to just follow us, not even knowing he knew our music, it’s like people is really paying attention to us.”

Of his appreciation and salute to up-and-comers, J.T. had this to say: “That’s why Drake is still hot,” said JT. “He’s not grouchy. He been in the game for a long time, he’s a legend, but he still is hip with what’s new. I love Drake.”

Of course, Drake’s affinity with Atlanta's QC house is nothing new, with the rapper first flirting with his co-signing superpowers when he hopped on the remix to Migos’ mainstream breakout “Versace.” Most recently, he blessed Lil Baby’s “Yes Indeed,” opening up the young rapper to yet another lane.
