Following XXXTentacion’s shooting death in a deadly robbery attempt, the late rapper has been met with tributes from fans and contemporaries alike. June 27th marked the rapper’s memorial service in which fans filled Florida’s BB&T Center to pay their final respects to the 20-year old.
Now, as the aftermath of his death continues to run its course, X’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard shared a photo, showcasing her son’s final resting place. The photo shows an opulent mausoleum bearing the name XXXTENTACION in large letters with his birth name Jahseh D. Onfroy inscribed underneath. Red, black and silver/white flowers adorn the gravesite.
“My guardian angel,” writes Cleopatra in the caption.
The suspect implicated in the rapper’s death, Dedrick D. Williams, was arrested on June 20th while police are still searching for two additional persons of interest.
Since his death, XXXTentacion’s music has experienced a jump of over 1600 percent in sales across the board with his “SAD!” notably climbing from No. 52 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first posthumous No. 1 song for a solo artist since The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Mo Money Mo Problems” did so in 1997. His ? album returned to the top 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart after its No. 1 debut in March and his 17 debut project from 2017 also returned to the album chart’s top 10 at No. 7.
