A representative of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has confirmed that the star will remain.

Bill Cosby has only recently sentenced to state prison to serve sentence lasting between 3 and 10 years. Cosby, once known as "America's Father," and heralded for his groundbreaking achievements, has been found guilty of sexual assault. Despite his lawyers' efforts, a judge ruled that actor a sexually violent predator.

News of the sentencing has rocked the world. Kathy McKee, one of the women assaulted by Cosby, told CNN that learning of the sentence caused her to experience "very difficult and deep emotions." "I'm happy that the judge sentenced Bill Cosby accordingly," she continued, "and  I'm grateful to Andrea [Constand, the woman who first filed the civil suit against Cosby] for standing strong."

TMZ reached out to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to inquire about whether Cosby's star will remain on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A representative for the organization responded with a statement reading "Once installed, the stars become part of the historic fabric of the Walk of Fame, a 'designated historic cultural landmark,' and are intended to be permanent. The stars only commemorate the recipient’s professional accomplishments."  The statement goes on to claim, "It is regrettable when the personal lives of inductees do not measure up to public standards and expectations; however, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce does not remove stars from the Walk of Fame."
