As if the stars themselves aligned, Jonah Hill most recently stepped onto social media to inform the world of an impending collaboration with Gucci Mane, uploaded a screenshot of a text thread shared between the two men as Gucci commenced the conversation: "Waddup vato it's Guwop," the rapper wrote.
"Wowwwww been waiting for this text all my life," Hill replies, following it up with, "We gonna make a classic or what?"
To that question, Gucci responds, "Hell yeah," adding his intent to shoot over a track to Jonah to take a listen.
"This video should be interesting," writes Hill in the caption attached to the screenshot. "@laflare1017 🔥 got the @vampireweekend and @steve.lacyvideo coming next couple weeks. Music videos were my favorite growing up and I feel grateful I get to direct them with some of my favorite artists. Let’s go!"
With the release of his well-received Mid90s film, Jonah Hill has taken considerable position behind the camera, even earning the praises of the likes of Drake. As for Gucci, music videos aren't the only thing on the southern rapper's itinerary as he also has a biopic in the works, set to chronicle his upbringing and rise to fame, including the adaptation of aspects that include his longtime relationship with wife Keyshia Ka'Oir and his history with the law.
