It appears Waka Flocka isn’t too happy about Jay Z referencing XXXTentacion’s name on Drake’s “Talk Up” record off his Scorpion album. In a since deleted tweet from earlier, Waka said he respects everything Jay has done, but he felt that line about X on the record was “uncalled for.” Waka says that since JAY-Z has “way more coins and connections” than other rappers, he “could’ve got that job done but blame[s] the unguided youth.” It appears Flocka thought JAY-Z’s line was blaming the rap community for X’s death.
On “Talk It Up,” Jay-Z raps: “I got your President tweeting, I won’t even meet with him/Y’all killed X, let Zimmerman live/Streets is done,” Hov spits.
That wasn’t the only thing Waka said about X though. Before that tweet was deleted, Waka sent out another message saying X died due to “pure hate and jealousy,” alluding to that it had nothing to do with the rap community. “X died off pure hate and jealousy 😞 nothing more nothing less #LongLiveXXX,” Waka tweeted out.
Check out the tweets (below) and let us know what you think. Does Waka have a point here or do you think Hov’s reference was harmless?
