There aren't many rappers like Earl Sweatshirt. While he's been plagued with his share of personal issues, the young lyricist has been highly regarded among his peers. Whether he's casually murdering a track alongside Danny Brown, Ab-Soul, and Kendrick Lamar, or diving into the deep recesses of his troubled psyche, Earl has earned a reputation as a brilliant, yet understated wordsmith. Unfortunately for fans, his release schedule remains frustrating, to say the least. In the past six years, we've been privy to a pair of Sweatshirt albums, in Doris and I Don't Like Shit. I Don't Go Outside.
Perhaps an Eminem name-drop compelled him to hit the booth. Perhaps he simply felt ready. In any case, it would appear that Earl is once again looking to release some music. Yesterday, the young rapper tweeted "the vibes... SRS COMING SOON THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER !!”, before swiftly deleting the message. Luckily, the screencap was saved for posterity's sake by a user over at /r/hiphopheads. Check that out here.
It's safe to say that a new Earl album would be a welcome addition to an already stacked year. Hopefully, Earl will shed further clarification in the near future, as fans have been desperate for the slightest crumb.
