Of all the great Red Table Talk interviews that we've received throughout the past few months with guests like Tiffany Haddish, August Alsina, Gabrielle Union and more, one of the latest guests is someone special since none other than Kid Cudi pays a visit to the show.
The "Reborn" music maker asked how he feels about being the voice and influence of a whole generation where he explained how "that's where most of the bad stuff came in" because he had to "live up to being this person" he didn't feel he was.
"It's like doing a comedy but you’re miserable. It's like my life was this show and I was always supposed to be on, but when the show was over I was completely miserable for a long time. I was not happy when I woke up in the morning, it started off with something as simple as that. Just being like 'Why don’t I feel ok?' and not really knowing what that was."
Cudi further noted how he used drugs as a way to manage his depression and not many people reached out to him. "I was very good at keeping my troubles hidden," he said.
As for now, Cudi's on the bright side. "It's a beautiful thing. I think just getting back out into the world, doing what I love again, has really been big for me. But then also, spending time with my daughter. … My daughter is my world."
