The Chiefs are making sure their star quarterback doesn't injure himself.

Patrick Mahomes is just two years into the NFL and he's already making a huge impact. This past season was his first full year playing for the Chiefs and he ended up scoring a whopping 50 touchdowns which helped him win this year's league MVP. The Chiefs ended up falling short in the AFC Championship game but Mahomes more than proved himself as one of the best up and coming players in the league. A few days ago, Mahomes showed just how good of an athlete he is when he did a smooth spin move in a game of pick up basketball. While it was a great move, the Chiefs are worried that he might injure himself in the offseason. According to general manager Brett Veach, Mahomes won't be playing any more basketball any time soon.

"The (Chiefs) Kingdom can be assured: No more basketball for Pat ... We were able to nip that in the bud,'' Veach told Kansas City radio station 810 WHB on Thursday. "With Pat, everything he does is so competitive. ... He actually was in the office yesterday and we were joking about it. He was just shooting around and all of a sudden it turns into a spin move and juking guys out. He doesn't have that filter in his mind to just have fun and not take everything so competitively."

Kansas City finished last season with a 12-4 record and are projected to have the best odds at winning the Super Bowl next season.
