After pitching the idea during the filming of Suicide Squad, Margot Robie's has finally announced the solo Harley Quinn movie she's been pushing for all these years. She posted a photo on Instagram of the script, called Birds Of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn.) "Birds of Prey" is printed onto the paper and the rest is handwritten (hand-scratched, more) as if Robie herself revised the script that was sent to her:
Robie has been involved in the project since the beginning and part of the reason it exists today is because of her input. Quoted in Forbes:
'I pitched the idea of an R-rated girl gang film including Harley, because I was like, ‘Harley needs friends.’ Harley loves interacting with people, so don’t ever make her do a standalone film. She’s got to be with other people, it should be a girl gang. I wasn’t seeing enough girl gangs on screen, especially in the action space. So that was always a big part of it.'
Warner Bros later reposted her photo on their own Instagram with a very far-away release date: 2.7.20.
