Drake is launching an exclusive line of bubbly.

Drake's nose for business is something to behold. After securing a deal for his Virginia Black Whiskey, and overseeing its success, the Canadian rapper-mogul is turning his attention to the Global champagne market. According to HB, Drake will launch an exclusive line of champagne tailored to a more affluent crowd. The product will be derivative of the previously established Mod Sélection brand.

Drake will team up with the same personnel that oversaw his Virginia Black markup. Noted spirits and liquor specialist Brent Hocking, will once again assume an executive role as the project manager, while Drake undertakes everything on the marketing end.

Don't be fooled by sudden inclinations; Mod Sélection's pedigree predates all the controlling entities on the project, by more than half-a-century. And yet, Drake speaks of his investment, as if it were a blindfolded birthday present.

"The product is great, the presentation is great, and hopefully the representation is great as well," says Drake in a recent interview with Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits. "We’ll enjoy this run. It should be a long one and a strong one."

Mod Sélection bottles are currently priced at $300 and $400 respectively, in two 750ml options: Reserve and Rosé. With Drake's participation in the project, the champagne makers hope to add magnums and jeroboams to the assembly, and additional flavor infusions: single Vineyard, Vintage, and Blanc de Blanc. Keep it peeled for the drop when it becomes available.
