Not even 24 hours after agreeing to a 13-year, $330 million contract to play for the Philadelphia Phillies, Bryce Harper has already begun recruiting other star athletes to the City of Brotherly Love.
Free agent running back Le'Veon Bell shared a screen shot of his Instagram DMs on Friday, which included the following message from Harper: "Aye come join! Let's take this city by storm. Bring as many titles as we can to the greatest city in the world. Brotherly Love. #SecureTheBag."
Harper isn't the only Philly sports figure to recruit Bell. Eagles players Chris Long, Malcolm Jenkins and Lane Johnson have all made their pitches to Bell, although there are several other teams that can offer Le'Veon much more money than Philly can.
Bell, 27, sat out all of last season but he has rushed for over 1,200 yards in three of his last four NFL seasons, and has racked up more than 1,800 yards from scrimmage in each of those three Pro Bowl campaigns.
Whatever Bell decides to do, we'll have to wait until the new league year officially opens on March 13 to find out. In the meantime, fans can look forward to his new album coming soon...
