Buddy blesses the spot on BBC Radio 1Xtra.

Buddy visited the BBC Radio 1Xtra offices during the European leg of his tour. The RCA signee performed his "underdog" anthem "Trouble On Central" before shifting his attention to more pulmonary strokes, a soulful rendition of Anderson .Paak's "Come Down." A performance that leaves all questions of his talent and wherewithal at the door.

Buddy began the proceedings with a devilish chuckle much like the one posed by Anderson. In fact if you listen with blinders, you couldn't make out the difference between the two Cali rapper/singers. So much so that's even offensive to call this a cover, or a slight variation in form. Buddy is so vicarious he even adopts Anderson's signature mannerisms. In doing so, Buddy joins a long list of musical scholars to flex their best kept talents on BBC Radio much like GoldLink and Jorja Smith.

From now on, you should refer to Buddy as the Ari Spears of hip hop impersonation. All kidding aside, his debut Harlan & Alondra is due on July 20th. He hopes to join the West Coast Renaissance spearheaded by his elder peers. not only is Buddy putting on for his hometown, but Harlan & Alondra is said to focus on his family upbringing and streets he grew up on.

Don't get gassed.
