Kendrick Lamar may not have promised us an upcoming album but in our hearts, we were still hoping that one was on the way. The TDE rapper rarely goes public with any information pertaining to his music or personal life. In fact, he's one of the most secretive artists today. The Pulitzer Prize winner has been rumored to be working on a new project for a few weeks, which TDE members have shut down. Now, Kendrick has dispelled the rumors himself in a rare interview with the L.A. Times.
Isaiah Rashad had us all buzzing in September when he said he had heard an entire Kendrick album before stepping back from the claims. During a recent talk with the L.A. Times, Kenny was asked about any upcoming work he'll be putting out but he made sure not to get anybody's hopes up. The piece reads, "He claims he hasn’t been working on a new album, but says that he’s constantly working." Directly after the interview, he was headed to the studio. While there may not be any concrete ideas for a full-length project, it's a good sign that he's still working on new vibes.
Hopefully, we see a new body of work, or at least an announcement, in 2019. We're always looking forward to some new Kendrick.
