Mya-Lecia Naylor, a British actress, has passed away at the extremely young age of 16-years-old. The news was announced in a statement issued by her agency, which reads:
"It is with the deepest sorrow we have to announce that on Sunday 7th April Mya-Lecia Naylor, very sadly, died. Mya-Lecia was hugely talented and a big part of A&J, we will miss her greatly. Our love and thoughts are with all her family and friends at this difficult time."
Naylor was just starting out her career, earning big roles next to Tom Hanks and Halle Berry in Cloud Atlas and starring in CBBC's series Millie Inbetween. Naylor will also be in the upcoming season of The Witcher, which will be reaching Netflix in the fall. The teenage actress reportedly died on April 7 after collapsing. There are no further details regarding her sudden passing at this point.
The news was announced on CBBC's website through a statement that reads that she was a "much-loved part of the BBC Children's family and a hugely talented actress, singer and dancer." Nobody deserves to go at age sixteen so to hear about her passing this early on in her life is truly heartbreaking. Our deepest condolences go out to Mya-Lecia's friends and family during this extremely difficult time. RIP.
