Things are starting to get out of hand with everything pertaining to R. Kelly. It's an unsettling situation, to say the least. It's almost like what happened with Bill Cosby a few years ago. At this point, we have been singing R. Kelly songs for decades and while there have been accusations made against him in the past, nothing was as extreme as it is right now. Most people on social media have shared their opinions on Lifetime's Surviving R. Kelly docu-series and now, the artist's own daughter is addressing the controversy.
Joann Kelly, who goes as Buku, spoke out on her Instagram story. She noted that she does not have a relationship with her father and she's uncomfortable addressing the things going on in his life but that, because of how far this has gone, she feels an obligation to speak. Buku wrote, "I just want you all to understand that devastated is an understatement for all that I feel currently. I do apologize if my silence to all that is happening comes off as careless." She goes on to pray for all the people affected by her father's behavior in past years, admitting that it has been a difficult process to fully understand the severity of this all. "My mother, siblings, and I would never condone, support or be apart of ANYTHING negative he has done," added Buku.
Kelly asks her followers to bring her nothing but peace at this time. What do you make of her statement?
