Just weeks after she dropped her rapid-fire single "Bird Box," Chicago rapper cupcakKe has released the video for the track. She kept things simple for the visual, allowing listeners to focus more on her lyricism than anything else. The rapper has developed a reputation for pushing the limits with her lyrics, often being categorized as being too raunchy with her rhymes. However, the criticism over her sexually-charged verses isn't something that cupcakKe allows to limit her artistry.
“People think ‘She raps about d**k and p***y, that’s a bad thing.’ Even if they tell me it’s a bad thing, it will not register in my brain that it’s a bad thing, because I know we all have sex,” says cupcakKe. “You just do it behind closed doors. I’m bold enough to say it. I talk about my body because it’s my body. I talk about my lady parts because they’re my lady parts.”
Birdbox is the first single cupcakKe has released since her April 2018 project, Eden hit the streets. Check out the visual and let us know what you think.
