Chi-Town poet Mick Jenkins has returned with some new visuals off Pieces Of A Man. This time, he's taking to Jamaican shores for some "Consensual Seduction," with a crisp shot-on-location, Mahaneela-directed video. Opening with some shots of a choice Jamaican locale, Mick sips Red Stripe and rolls joints with the locals, including one particular "love interest," as it were. A visibly blazed Mick spits bars depicting the benefits of a mutually approved seduction, laying out his signature linguistics while eying the baddie by the shop.
Eventually, Mick takes a backseat as his desired lady slips out for a quick dip. Intercut with lush foliage and delectable fruit, the chosen imagery is strong in its connotations. Overall, "Consensual Seduction" is a refreshing variation on the typical hip-hop video, as Mick solidifies himself as a romantic gentleman. It's an archetype we don't often see, and one that brings an added dose of character to the acclaimed lyricist.
