Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now backward compatible on Xbox One. For anyone who's not a gamer, that means that original Xbox 360 copies of the game will now be playable on the new console. It will also be available for sale digitally later this week for $14.99 if you're an Xbox Live Gold member. It has been a game that users have been begging to come to the backward compatibility library for some time, so many gamers should be happy about the news today. At the very least, it should hold people over until the Black Ops 4 Blackout beta arrives.
The announcement was made by Major Nelson AKA Larry Hryb, on Twitter, inspiring some very excited responses from those who have been waiting for this day.
Back in June, it was announced that Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, one of the most beloved games of the 00s would become backwards compatible. Once again, gamers everywhere were overjoyed.
In other recent Xbox news, Halo: Infinite was announced as a direct sequel to Halo 5 earlier this month.
