Davis is currently battling a finger injury.

Anthony Davis has been the biggest name in the NBA over the last couple of weeks thanks to the news that he wants out of New Orleans and that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers want to pursue him. There has been a constant stream of trade rumors but it appears as though nothing is final as of right now. With the trade deadline coming up tomorrow at 3 P.M., the Pelicans are taking all precautions necessary and will be sitting Davis tonight against the Chicago Bulls.

Head coach Alvin Gentry spoke about sitting Davis and how the rumors have been affecting the team.

"Obviously, it's on everyone's mind," Gentry said according to ESPN. "But we just try to put it on the backburner and focus on the task at hand. I think everything kind of clears up [after Davis is traded], at least for a while. And you can go back to I guess whatever our new normal is going to be. It's just part of it. It's part of the business, and you just deal with it like you would anything else."

Davis has missed eight games since going down with a finger injury and the Pelicans have gone 2-6 in that time.

Stay tuned for any trade updates ahead of tomorrow's deadline.
