Although music is about the culture, at the end of the day, fans want to see those numbers. Earning a number one album is a feat that cannot be enjoyed by many. Those who do achieve the coveted number one spot are heralded above other artists, especially if they can do it multiple times.
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga's A Star Is Born soundtrack has been sitting pretty at number one on Billboard. Future and Juice WRLD may come and knock them down a spot though, as first week projections for their WRLD on Drugs project look promising. As reported by Hits Daily Double, the collaborative album is projected to sell 95-105,000 equivalent album units, with roughly 7-10,000 of those coming from pure sales.
Lil Yachty also came through with a new album release this weekend, gracing the world with Nuthin' 2 Prove. His third studio album is projected to move 35-40,000 equivalent album units, with only 1-2,000 of those coming from pure sales. As expected, Yachty's strength comes from his streaming numbers. Khalid also released a project, entitled Suncity, which is projected to sell 40-45,000 album equivalent units, with 9-12,000 coming from pure sales. Unless there's an intense fluctuation in streams or sales over the weekend, Future and Juice WRLD will unseat Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.
