Stan Lee's passing was a major loss for the comic book industry. Although Kevin Feige deserves endless praise for constructing the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he would have no characters to develop without Stan Lee. Lee was the mastermind behind The Avengers, The X-Men, Black Panther, The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and so much more. When he passed away last year, the entire industry paid their respects via online tributes. Now, an official tribute to the life of the legendary Stan Lee has been planned for January 30 in Los Angeles.
Kevin Smith, Legion M, and Agents of Mayhem in partnership with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment are launching “Excelsior! A Celebration of the Amazing, Fantastic, Incredible & Uncanny Life of Stan Lee.” The tribute will take place on Wednesday, January 30 at Hollywood’s iconic TCL Chinese Theatre. Kevin Smith will host, and Mark Hamill, Rob Liefeld (Co-Creator of Deadpool), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil, Men In Black, The Magnificent Seven) RZA, Tom DeSanto (Producer of X-Men and Transformers franchises) and many others will also speak at the event. Tickets for the tribute are available now at legionm.com/stantribute. All net proceeds from ticket sales will go to the non-profit charitable organization The Hero Initiative, a charity supporting comic book creators, artists, and writers.
