A bar in Ohio has been under investigation over the last few months by the Ohio Investigative Unit. Sharkey's bar has lost its liquor license last Thursday, a punishment that effectively shut the establishment down.
The OIU agents involved had been investigating the bar since may 2017. Throughout their probe, the legal authorities managed to use $2,404.87 worth of food stamps to purchase a variety of drugs including heroin, fentanyl, carfentanil, cocaine, methamphetamines. They were also able to use the coupon currency to buy lap dances.
Employees of the bar and patrons alike have been slapped with criminal charges. They've been busted for "drug trafficking, food stamp trafficking, aggravated shipment and distribution of heroin, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, and illegal sexual activity."
