"N***as think that I'm a singer till I really hit that switch," raps 6lack, on Sway In The Morning, "my mental dictionary is a fully loaded clip." With his sophomore album East Atlanta Love Letter arriving shortly, the artist hit up Sway and Heather B's Shade 45 staple for an extensive conversation. While the interview can be seen after the jump, fans might be interested in 6lack's brief yet memorable freestyle. As he says in the lines above, his singing chops may be evident, but his microphone skills are nothing to sleep on.
"It only takes a couple of bars for me to warm up, show up, show out, all over the place place like a Nicki M rollout," raps 6lack, "shoutout to the Barbz but don't be in my comments, spamming with no unicorns fuckin' up my conscience." Though he tends to opt for a more melodic approach more often than not, the man is clearly a gifted emcee with an excellent ear for lyricism and flow. We can only hope his upcoming East Atlanta Love Letter project finds the Grammy-nominated talent displaying the vast scope of his toolbox. If rumours are to be believed, the album drops on September 14th.
